The Place

I want to go deep.

A voice speaks.

What are you trying to do? Where are you looking to go?

Other voices retort. 

As the voices within me converse with one another, weaving cyclical contradictions, I zero in on the one voice that is found in the deepest parts of my being. It’s a voice that simultaneously exists in the depths and looks for itself in the depths. 

There is a powerful yearning in the voice that longs to connect with that endless place.

Where?

The place isn’t really a place. 

It’s an ocean that has no bottom or shore. 

It’s a state of flowing with no particular direction, time, or destination. 

Everything that exists there always has been, and always will be. 

The place is eternal.

This eternal place is not some distant entity but is rather an intelligent energy that is present in each of us and in all that exists. My effort here is to share from that eternal space, using my voice as a vessel for the wisdom that is found everywhere.

My journey to the deep has the trajectory of a cosine wave. Some days the peaceful release will come effortlessly and I’ll find myself able to sink into the spaces in between the tangible. Then there are other days where my whole being will be the embodiment of tension, gripping at a lifeline of control that keeps me at the surface.

I find the difficult days occur when Ego needs to speak. These voices form turbulent waves in the shapes of personal fear, anxiety, and grief surrounding the sense of self. Our eternal energy wants to become the endless deep and the infinite sky, but our ego wants to stay at the surface with both feet on solid ground. 

The endless dilemma of our reality is our dual nature. Despite our best efforts, we are not metaphysical balls of energy. We exist here in this physical dimension, and with that comes the existence of our ego and personification of self.

As I begin my journey on this platform, my effort here is to navigate the duality that is the law of our existence. How can we respect and nurture the speaker that is Ego, yet have an open connection with the voice that is Eternal Energy?

I am listening.
